VIOLA: Twelfth Night, Or “What’s Her HIStory?”

A Solo adaptation of William Shakespeare’s TWELFTH NIGHT, OR WHAT YOU WILL by Claire Tyers-Lichtwalt.

Claire sets off on a journey of self-discovery through the character of VIOLA and her dealings with Duke Orsino and Lady Olivia. There’s a reason this story calls to her and this 60 minute telling is a chance to unmask why Viola’s story has meant so much to her. In an exploration of concealment, self acceptance, and perhaps, reuniting with yourself through the eyes of the love and the past. While they are in this disguise they are allowed to be outspoken, smart, witty, passionate, and wise. Claire has found when she’s played these characters—she too was allowed to be such things. VIOLA was Claire’s first Shakespearean role. She is who sent her of this Shakespearean quest Freedom, self expression and opinions. While other side of there potential and humanity. Stands up for herself!
