NOTES ON THE MYSTERIOUS CRAFT OF ACTING:
The question never is ‘HOW do I do this moment?’ ‘HOW do I do this Monologue?’ “HOW DO I ACT?” — Again, it’s far more simple than that! In order to ACT you must know what you’e RE-ACTING to! You must completely understand and know your basic WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, AND WHY. I know! The good ol’ tried and true! Most importantly it’s the WHY and WHAT: ‘WHY is my character in this moment?’ ‘WHY is my character saying this?’ ‘WHY is my character DOING this?’ ‘WHAT is happening?’ Yes, it’s that simple! But most Actors need guidance weeding through all the drama, pun intended, to identify exactly what they are doing as the character they are playing. I am that guide!
Your Personal Connection is a necessary ingredient to the success of your performance! You must approach your work from a Personal Perspective— how can you relate and if you can’t, why? Your IMAGINATION and ability to Connect Personally must be ignited when you perform without exception. It is my work to coach you to this Connection and to help you activate your imagination in the best direction!
